Inside the 18: Henry Wise to Make Red Bulls II Debut Against Detroit City FC

New York Red Bulls II will host Detroit City FC on Wednesday, September 21, at MSU Soccer Park.

The two clubs will meet for the second time in their history, with the only prior meeting being on April 30 of this season. Wednesday night will also mark the final home match of the season for Red Bulls II.

Henry Wise will make his club debut for New York, getting the start along with Jesús Castellano in the defensive midfield. Wise signed with the club in August after spending time with Watford FC’s U-23’s. He also spent time with Derby County FC’s U-18’s along with Queens Park Rangers FC and Arsenal FC during his youth career.

New York will have three center backs in the match as Matt Nocita and Yostin Salinas will be joined by Hassan Ndam. Arian Recinos and O’Vonte Mullings will likely serve as wingbacks.

The attacking options for Red Bulls II will consist of Wiki Carmona, Stiven Plaza, and Jordan Adebayo-Smith.

Giannis Nikopolidis will start in net for the second-straight match. He is 70 minutes away from passing Luca Lewis for 6th in club history for minutes played in net. With the start, he will also pass Lewis for sixth in club history for goalkeeper appearances and starts.

The bench for New York will have Davi Alexandre, Curtis Ofori, Erick Ruiz, Bento Estrela, Nate Worth, and Jonathan Filipe. 15-year-old Alan Rutkowski will serve as the backup goalkeeper.
