The Red Bulls Supporters groups and New York Red Bulls front office will compete for the South Ward Challenge Cup Saturday, Mar. 24, at the Harrison Soccer Courts (15 Frank E. Rodgers Blvd.). The event kicks off at 10am and pins The Viking Army, Garden State Ultras, Empire Supporters and Red Bulls front office against one another for the highly coveted South Ward Challenge Cup.
Teams are guaranteed to face off against one another at least once in 30-minute, 7v7 matches. The Green Room, located at 203 Frank E Rodgers Boulevard South in Harrison, will be offering those in attendance a chance to relax and hang out during the tournament.
The South Ward is the supporters section at Red Bull Arena, consisting of sections 101 (Empire Supporters Club), 133 (Garden State Ultras) and 102 (Viking Army SC). The Supporters in the South Ward fill Red Bull Arena with flags, drums, banners and, most of all, their voices, for the full 90 minutes of every match.
Come hang out for the day and cheer on all four teams as they compete for the South Ward Challenge Cup!

Newly acquired defender Wilman Conde, who suffered a thigh injury in the early stages of the third match against Los Angeles in the Desert Diamond Cup, is improving his chances of returning to the pitch sooner rather than later. As the Red Bulls head into Sunday's home opener against the Colorado Rapids (4pm ET, ESPN/ESPN Deportes), they may be doing so with the option of including the six-foot-two Colombian.
“He will probably be available,” Head Coach Hans Backe said Tuesday following the team's training session at Montclair State University. “Let’s see how he responds. He trained this weekend with eight, ten guys. Now we have a lot of sessions before the Sunday game.”

Rookie goalkeeper Ryan Meara stepped up big on a number of Real Salt Lake shot attempts to keep the Red Bulls within striking distance, but goals from Fabian Espindola (39') and Luis Gil (58') proved to be enough for the Western Conference side as they went on to win by the final of 2-0 Saturday night at Rio Tinto Stadium.
"They definitely are top three in this league, so the good sign for us was the way we responded after going down two-nil," said Red Bulls head coach Hans Backe. "We controlled the game, dictated the game, created a couple of chances. That's a good sign and credit to the players the way they responded after going down."
New York applied heavy pressure for the better part of the second half, as the pairing of Kenny Cooper, who subbed on at the half, and Thierry Henry looked for ways to capitalize on offense. Defender Jan Gunnar Solli created a number of chances as well on crosses into the box, but failed to find a target to send one home.
The loss hands New York its second of the season, dropping the team's record to 0-2-0 as they return to Red Bull Arena for the highly-anticipated Mar. 25 home opener against the Colorado Rapids. Great seats are starting at $20. Get your tickets now

Down 2-0, with the Red Bulls pressing on offense, Thierry Henry tried to spark a comeback with a highlight-reel attempt that just went wide from registering the team's first goal of the game.
It may have just missed the mark, but as you'll hear (and see) in the video below, it was quite the "acrobatic play by Henry."
Red Bulls midfielder Dax McCarty and defender Stephen Keel were on hand for the New York Knicks' 121-79 blow-out win over the Portland Trail Blazers Wednesday night.
MSG's Tina Cervasio spoke with the guys during the second quarter of the game. Here's a replay of the interview with Dax and Stephen:
