In the club's ongoing effort to keep you, the supporters of the
club, as up to date as possible with what is going on with the first
team and beyond, below in a weekly update on how the Red Bull
Academy products are fairing playing for their respective
collegiate sides.  Academy products are translating the success
they had in the Academy system to the collegiate level.  Below is
the update though matches of Monday, November 15, as some seasons
ended, and others prepare for the NCAA tournament.

There are 37 Academy products playing collegiate soccer, representing 18 Universities, incuding several in the national polls.

Issa Tall- Adelphi University- This week, the
Adelphi Panthers captured their second straight Atlantic Soccer Conference
tournament championship by defeating NJIT in the semifinals and then Houston
Baptist in an overtime finals thriller. Adelphi closed their season with a
record of 11-6-2. Tall finished the season with four goals and 36 shots in his
sophomore campaign.

Sacir Hot- Boston College- After defeating
Duke by a score of 1-0, BC fell to North Carolina, 0-1, in the ACC Semifinals.
But the Eagle’s season is not finished as they travel for the first round of
the NCAA tournament to face Brown in their continued hunt for the National
Title.

David NajemColumbia – Despite a great
effort by Najem and the rest of the Lions, Columbia’s season ended with a
scoreless tie against Cornell. Najem ends his first year at Columbia with three
goals and three assists in 17 starts.

Brandon PaulUniversity of Delaware – #4
Delaware was defeated by #1 William & Mary in the semifinals of the CAA
tournament this week by  a score of 0-1.
This ends UD’s season with a record of 6-9-3.  
Paul made seven saves in the match and ends the season with a total of
42 saves in seven starts.

Jon GonzalezFDU- FDU’s season ended with a
0-1 loss to Monmouth in the Northeast Conference Tournament. They end the
season with a 9-7-2 record. Gonzalez finished his freshman year with 10 starts
and one goal.

Jason WellsFDU- FDU’s season ended with a
0-1 loss to Monmouth in the Northeast Conference Tournament. They end the
season with a 9-7-2 record. Wells saw the field quite a bit this season for the
Knights making one start in his sophomore campaign.

Sam Adjei Iona – The Gaels ended their
season in the Championship round of the MAAC Tournament. Iona defeated Siena in
the semifinals but went on to fall to Saint Peter’s in the final, 1-2. They end
their season 9-9-1. In the match against Siena, Adjei scored one goal, bringing
his season tally to five goals, and four assists in eleven starts.

Mario Rios Iona – The Gaels ended their
season in the Championship round of the MAAC Tournament. Iona defeated Siena in
the semifinals but went on to fall to Saint Peter’s in the final, 1-2. They end
their season 9-9-1. In the match against Siena, Rios scored one goal bringing
his season tally to three goals, seven assists, 34 shots, and 19 starts.

Matt Kassell Maryland – The Terps continue
their quest for a National Title after capturing the ACC Men’s Soccer
Championship this week. The title was secured off Kassel’s penalty kick goal
against North Carolina. The chance to win the tournament came after the Terps
beat Clemson and Virginia for the right to face UNC in the finals.  Next up for the Terps is a match on November
21 against either Bucknell or Penn in the NCAA Tournament.

Widner Saint Cyr Maryland - The Terps
continue their quest for a National Title after capturing the ACC Men’s Soccer
Championship this week. The title was secured off Kassel’s penalty kick goal
against North Carolina. The chance to win the tournament came after the Terps
beat Clemson and Virginia for the right to face UNC in the finals.  Next up for the Terps is a match on November 21
against either Bucknell or Penn in the NCAA Tournament.

Dylan Mencia Michigan – The Michigan
Wolverines battled their way to the school’s first ever Big Ten Title. The
earned the right to face USF/UCF in the NCAA second round by defeating Michigan
state (2-1), Wisconsin (1-0), and Penn State (4-1). This match will come on
November 21 at home in Ann Arbor, Michigan. 

Cesar Blacido Monmouth –  Monmouth took home two victories against FDU
and Saint Francis (PA) to secure the 2010 Northeast Conference Tournament,
earning the #11 Hawks a berth into the NCAA Tournament. The Hawks will face
Dartmouth on November 18 in the first round of the tournament. Blacido
registered one goal in the victory over FDU this week.

Anthony Vazquez Monmouth - Monmouth took
home two victories against FDU and Saint Francis (PA) to secure the 2010
Northeast Conference Tournament, earning the #11 Hawks a berth into the NCAA
Tournament. The Hawks will face Dartmouth on November 18 in the first round of
the tournament. Vazquez had a great week registering five shots and one assist
in the two matches.

Nick Gendron Northwestern  – The Wildcats’ season ended in a loss to Penn
State in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament. The Wildcats end the season
at 8-8-2. Gendron finished his sophomore campaign with one goal and one assist.
