Montreal has enjoyed an impressive start to the season, going 3-0-0 to start the year. The Impact won two consecutive road games against Cascadia Cup duo, Seattle and Portland, before returning home to Olympic Stadium last Saturday to defeat Toronto FC, 2-1, thanks to goals from Patrice Bernier and Marco Di Vaio.
Last season, the Red Bulls earned a 2-1-0 record against the then-MLS expansion Impact. Montreal won the last meeting between the two teams, 3-1, at Saputo Stadium on July 28. However, New York took home the first two encounters, including a 2-1 road win at Olympic Stadium on May 19. |
