Arteaga enters his first season with the Red Bulls. The 25-year-old forward joins the club after spending last season with local club FC New York of the USL-Pro Division. At FC New York, he proved to have a nose for the net as he was the league’s leading goal scorer for the 2011 season. The Red Bulls are hopeful that Arteaga can translate that form to the MLS level.
Professional: 2012: Made Red Bulls debut and played nine minutes on April 22 vs. D.C. United. 2011: Spent the season at FC New York of USL-Pro Division. Played in 21 matches, scoring an impressive 13 goals, which led USL-Pro. Had 16 goals in all competitions. Notched a hat trick on June 15 over Western Mass Pioneers in U.C. Open Cup. 2010: Trailed with Polish first division side Lechia Gdansk before latching on with third division club LKS Lomza. Scored eight goals in 14 games for Lomza. 2009: Played for USL-PDL side Westchester Flames for three matches before leaving for Poland. 2008: Turned professional with USL Second Division side Western Mass Pioneers. Made nine league appearances.
Collegiate/Club: Played four seasons at Dominican College from 2004-07. Earned Central Atlantic College Conference Player of the Year as senior in 2007, scoring 16 goals. Earned All-CACC and All-NSCAA All-Region Honors during sophomore, junior and senior seasons.
Personal: Born in Cali, Colombia. Grew up in Stamford, CT where he attended Westhill High School
