2014: Recorded an assist in the regular season opener on Wright-Phillips goal in the 91st minute. Played 81 minutes vs. Colorado on March 15 and assisted on Henry’s goal in the 57th minute. Played the full 90 minutes and recorded an assist on Steele’s goal in the 31st minute on April 5 at Montreal. Played the full 90 minutes on April 16 vs. Philadelphia and scored a goal in the 67th minute. Played 92+ minutes, and assisted on Wright-Phillips’ goal in the 66th minute, before being subbed off for Bover on April 26 at Columbus. Played the full 90 minutes and assisted on Bradley Wright-Phillips’ 67th minute goal on May 10th vs. Chicago. Played the full 90 minutes on June 8 at New England and recorded the game-winning assist on Eric Alexander’s 17th minute goal. Played the full 90 minutes against New England on August 2 and recorded the game-winning assist on Bradley Wright-Phillips’ goal. Played the full 90 minutes on September 6 against Sporting Kansas City and recorded his eighth assist of the season. Scored third goal of the season, and second game-winner, on September 10 against D.C. United in a 1-0 win. Recorded his ninth assist on October 11 in a 3-1 win against Toronto FC. 2013:In his first full season in MLS, Sam finished tied for fourth on the team with five goals and added one assist despite making only eight starts among his 22 appearances … Four of his goals and his lone assist came in Sam’s final eight appearances of the regular season … Scored his first MLS goal with a low drive inside the far post just one minute after the Red Bulls allowed the opening goal in 1-1 tie at New England on May 11 … Ejected only 28 minutes into the 3-0 loss at Philadelphia on June 23 … Had a big game as a substitute on Aug. 3, contributing the go-ahead assist and a goal that turned out to be the game-winner in only 27 minutes of action in a 3-2 win at Kansas City … Started five of the Red Bulls’ last nine games and produced three goals in those games … Scored in back-to-back games on Aug. 31 vs. D.C. 2012: Signed in mid-August, Sam made his Red Bulls debut on Aug. 29 when he subbed on in New York’s 2-2 draw against D.C. United … Debuted at home on Sept. 19 against Sporting KC, when he subbed on for the last 21 minutes of play… Made his first Red Bulls start on Sept. 29, a 4-1 win over Toronto FC and earned his first assist … Subbed off after 77 minutes of 0-0 tie vs. Kansas City on Oct. 20 due to what would later be diagnosed as a season-ending PCL injury … Playoffs: Did not appear due to injury.
2003-2012: Made 10 appearances with English League One side Notts County while on loan from Leeds United, scoring five goals in that span. Prior to that, Sam was transferred from Charlton Athletic to Leeds United in August 2010. From 2010 to 2012, Sam produced two goals in 35 appearances for Leeds United. In 2006, Sam was sent on loan from Charlton Athletic to Sheffield Wednesday. From 2003 to 2004, after two seasons with Premier League side Charlton Athletic, Sam was loaned to League Two side Leyton Orient.
