HARRISON, N.J. – Saturday night’s scoreless draw with bottom-of-the-table D.C. United was disappointing for New York, essentially dropping two points at home against a team the Red Bulls were supposed to beat. The offense was non-existent at times and just downright inept when it mattered most. Here are the player ratings:
GK-Bouna Coundoul: Very quiet night for Coundoul, but he did control his area well. Only had to make two saves but handled crosses and balls into the box with ease. Rating: 6

D-Chris Albright: For a second straight game, it was a little bit of a down performance for the right back after two months of steady play. Defensively, Albright was fine, but his crossing was inconsistent and his touch seemed a bit off. Rating: 5.5
D-Carlos Mendes: United didn’t do much attacking, but Mendes was solid. Stepped forward to break up plays and very vocal among the back four. Rating: 6
D-Tim Ream: After a couple shaky performances in May, Ream is once again playing brilliant soccer. His man-marking and anticipation has improved, and he still plays that sweet ball out of the back. Rock solid performance. Rating: 8
D-Danleigh Borman: Time after time, Borman pushed up from the left back position and provided good service down the wing. Overlapping and confidence was high against DC and he played good defense. Rating: 7
M-Dane Richards: It was an uneasy performance from Richards, but it wasn't his fault. Rarely got the ball in positions to score or be dangerous. Often out of the game’s flow as the midfield struggled. His defensive work rate wasn’t bad, though. Rating: 6
M-Seth Stammler: Always seemed a touch slow on Saturday and exhausted just minutes after halftime. After some great games in June, Stammler has hit a bit of a slump, but he should bounce back. Rating: 5.5
M-Joel Lindpere: Provided a nice ball in each half down the left flank to the forwards but was invisible much of the match in terms of creativity and holding possession. A bit of an off-game for the Estonian, who still worked hard defensively. Rating: 5.5
F-Salou Ibrahim: Squandered a great chance in front of goal in the second half. Worked hard and tracked back, but didn’t look dangerous on a consistent basis. Rating: 5
F-Juan Pablo Angel: Hit a nice free kick in the first half that forced Troy Perkins into a save, but was very quiet all game long. Missed a chance on goal just a few yards out in the first half that he failed to put on frame. Rating: 5.5.
Substitutions
M-Tony Tchani: Showed some good poise and rarely panicked on the ball. Still needs to play the ball faster in the attacking third, but was the lone New York player to take players on the dribble. Rating: 6.5
M-Roy Miller: Showed well on the left flank and moved into the attack. Perhaps the wing can be a permanent home for him. Rating: 6
F-Macoumba Kandji: His return game from injury saw him get a standing ovation upon entering for the final 15 minutes. Showed a little flair but rarely was dangerous. Good signs all around, though. Rating: 5.5
