The Red Bulls dominated the first half creating many chances while going ahead 2-0 on goals from Chris Lema (Ridgefield, NJ) and Wesley Wade (South Orange, NJ).  The U14s came out in the second half and continued to press the attack, scoring three more with Lema getting a hat trick and Wade scoring his second of the game and his team-leading eighth goal in six games this season.  The U14 Red Bulls are now 6-0-0 on the season and will play next weekend at the PA Classics Showcase.

U13s:  The U13 Red Bulls traveled to Lincroft, NJ to play U13 NJSA 04 on Sunday, October 3, and emerged with a 4-0 win.  The first half was even between the two teams with neither team having many chances on goal. Five minutes in to the second half the deadlock was broken, as Callum Johnson (New York, NY) picked up a ball 35 yards out and struck a perfect shot that found the back of the net over the goalkeeper. JC Obregon (Brooklyn, NY) put the young Red Bulls up 2-0 10 minutes later, picking the ball 25 yards out and striking a perfect volley that beat the goalkeeper. The Red Bulls third goal came from a counter attack, after a corner kick. Kyle Gurrieri (Totowa, NJ) picked up the ball and played a perfect pass to put Anthony Sileo (Mahwah, NJ) who raced away in the NJSA half and rounded the goalkeeper. Sileo again got on the score sheet when he followed up a free kick from Johnson and tapped the ball in the net after the goalkeeper gave up a rebound. Nicky Pritchard (New Egypt, NJ) and Max Lurie (South Orange, NJ) split halves to help the U13s earn the clean sheet.

“I think every one played well today,” said head coach Antonio Meza.  “They did the right things for the most part of the game.  In the second half we were able to fix a couple things that led us to the final score. It wasn't easy at the beginning of the game; it was a difficult field to play on but at the end we adjusted pretty well and we were able to play our game, I am happy about the level of play, It is a positive to see that we are finding a style of playing and the players are responding well to it.”
