The Red Bull U23s are not in season.

U18s:  The 18 Red Bulls lost 4-1 to the US U17 MNT on Saturday night at Red Bull Arena.

The Red Bulls opened the scoring early into the game when Kyle McCord (Chester Springs, PA) ran onto a Sean Davis (Holmdel, NJ) through ball and slotted it past the US Goalkeeper. The US replied midway through the first half with a shot from 12 yards out as the teams headed into the break knotted at 1-1.

The US went 2-1 up just after halftime after some good work down the left hand side allowed a cross and finish by the US forward past Red Bulls goalkeeper Santiago Castano (Union City, NJ). Red Bulls Defender Brandon Adler (Montville, NJ) was sent off after pulling down the US forward as the last defender. The US scored two more goals midway through the second half to complete the 4-1 win.

"We played a very good US team tonight who are in final preparations for FIFA U17 World Cup Qualifications next month; they are really peaking as a team. The U18s on the other hand are still in preseason for the US Development Academy and it showed with the US being fitter and stronger," said head coach Paul O'Donnell. "We did create chances during the game but couldn’t put them away. We had stretches of the game when we moved the ball around well. It is a learning curve for the players and its another good experience playing the National Team at Red Bull Arena.”

Starting Line Up: Santiago Castano, Paul Ehrenworth, Kyle Roach, Bryan Gallego, Richmond McCarthy, Sean Davis, Dan Metzger, Mike Innocenzi, Kyle McCord, Brandon Allen, Juan Agudelo.

The Red Bulls played U14 Delco in their first game winning 4-0. A brace from Malcolm Dixon (Glenridge, NJ) paced the U14 offense.

In the second game the Red Bulls defeated U14 McLean Academy from Virginia, 5-0. Dixon recorded his second straight brace, and was joined on the scoresheet by Dante Perez (Hightstown, NJ), Wes Wade (South Orange, NJ) and Tyler Pinho (Cranford, NJ).

The U14s completed their undefeated tournament by beating U14 Matchfit Academy, 5-0, on Sunday. Dixon, Wade, Chris Lema (Ridgefield, NJ), Joe Swenson (Massapequa Park, NY) and Derek Etienne (Paterson, NJ). U13s:  The U13 Red Bulls participated in the Pre Academy Festival in Lancaster, PA this past weekend.

The Red Bulls dropped their first game of the weekend, 5-2, to U13 Oakwood SC. Anthony Sileo (Mahwah, NJ) scored both goals for the U13s.

The youngest Red Bulls side bounced back with a 3-0 win over U13 Match Fit in the second of three games on the weekend. Sileo again opened the scoring after connecting with an Orestis Sousonis (Dover, NJ) cross. Marcello Borges (Kearny, NJ) made it 2-0 with an assist from Kyle Zajec (Westport, CT). Sousonis created the Red Bulls third goal which was deflected in by a March Fit defender.

The U13s finished the long weekend with a 2-0 loss to U13 Cosmos Academy. After creating the better chances during the game and hitting the crossbar three times the Red Bulls gave up two goals with defensive mistakes.

“Hopefully we learn from these experiences and we fix the mistakes we made.  It was good to see good soccer and creativity, but we need to keep working on our defending,” said head coach Antonio Meza.
