FC Red Bull Salzburg
The Red Bulls snapped their snapped their winless streak that has plagued them since the spring season began in early February. This past week, FC Red Bull Salzburg picked up two victories to vault themselves back into third place in the Austrian Budesliga, just four points from the top.
On March 2, the Red Bulls beat KSV Superfund by a score of 1-0 to capture there 10th win of the season. Roman Wallner put home a penalty kick right before the half to take a lead that the Red Bulls would not relinquish. With solid defensive play in the second half, The Red Bulls were able to register the clean sheet and snap the winless streak.
Just three days later, the Red Bulls were able to continue the momentum they built during their victory over Superfund by defeating SV Mattersburg. Salzburg was not able to capitalize on their scoring chances in the first half, but the second half was a different story. Midfielder Simon Cziommer kicked off the scoring in the 49th minute and his goal was followed just eight minutes later by Dusan Svento, who netted the second. The Red Bulls did not look back from there and held on for the 2-0 victory.
The Red Bulls will look to improve on their third place ranking this week where they will travel to Keine Sorgen Arena to take on SV Ried in a huge matchup. SV Ried enters the game tied with Red Bull Salzburg in the standings with 41 points. The game will be played on March 12.
Red Bull Brasil
Red Bull Brasil were able to pick up a point this past week in their March 4th showdown with first place Atletico Sorocaba. Sorocaba came into the game having gone five games without a loss. The two teams played to a 0-0 tie, a fitting final score for these two eams who are playing as well as anybody in the league.
With the tie, RB Brasil has moved comfortably into fifth place, four points ahead of sixth place PAEC. The Red Bulls will begin the week just four points out of the top four in standings and only six points shy of the top, which is held by Sao Jose.
The Red Bulls will have a chance to gain significant ground in the standings on March 9th and March 12th when they take on PAEC and Sao Jose respectively.
RB Leipzig
RB Leipzig picked up six big points in the past week to bring themselves within ten points of top spot in the Regionalliga Nord. The Red Bulls defeated Eintracht Braunschweig by a score of 4-0 on March 2nd at Red Bull Arena. The Red Bulls dominated the game behind two goals from Daniel Frahn, his ninth and tenth of the year. They continued there winning ways four days later with a 3-0 win at the expense of Hamburger SV. Paul Schinke added two goals in the first half for RB Leipzig as they cruised to their 12th win of the season.
RB Leipzig, who sit in fourth place, just one point out of second place, will TSV Halvese on March 9th. Halvese has struggled as of late and will come into the match in 17th place out of 18 teams in the Regionalliga Nord.
RB Ghana
The Red Bulls will resume play of their season in the Division One League occupying fifth place of Zone 3B with eight points. They are six points clear of the last place All Stars but are nine points shy of top spot, currently occupied by Tema Youth.
RB Ghana will start the second half of the season hoping to put an end to a two-game winless streak that dates back to January 20. The Red Bulls are also 1-3-1 in their last five games prior to the break. A good run could move the Red Bulls as far up as third in the standings, as they are just three points out of that spot. The Division One League has confirmed that play will resume on March 12 but has not yet released the schedule.
