Red Bull Salzburg
Still in the title hunt, Red Bull Salzburg needed a victory to keep within a point of leading SK Sturm Graz and got just that in the final minute of stoppage time.  Mattersburg kept the Red Bulls off the score sheet despite their dictating play until Roman Wallner converted a penalty for his 17th strike of the season to hand his side the essential three points.

The three points allow Salzburg to retain its hold on second place with a one-point cushion on either side.  The Red Bulls (16-7-11) face the toughest remaining schedule in the tipp3-Bundesliga, however, as they will host fourth-place SV Josko Ried, which must win out to have any hope of tying for first, on May 22 and close the season in a blockbuster against FK Austria Wien, which stands a mere point shy of Salzburg.  A win over SV Josko Ried will secure a Europa League qualifying spot at the minimum for Salzburg.

RB Leipzig
A 2-0 victory over Hallescher FC kept RB Leipzig in fourth place as RB Leipzig won for the seventh straight time at Red Bull Arena.  Both goals came from Stefan Kutschke as the Red Bulls (17-5-10) can now finish no better than fourth place after VfB Lübek reached 68 points with only two games remaining, though a tough challenge remains in the next league match against promotion-clinching Chemnitzer FC.  Leipzig takes on host SG Dynamo Dresden at Red Bull Arena tonight at 7:00 pm for the semi-final of the Saxon Landespokal.

The Red Bulls Junior U14s and U13s have clinched region championship with games still left before their seasons end.  The U 17s also defeated the first positioned team in the table from Berlin.
