HARRISON, N.J. The New York Red Bulls announced today that due to the heavy inclement weather from Hurricane Irene that is expected to hit the tri-state area on Sunday, the Red Bulls-Los Angeles Galaxy clash originally scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 28 at 8:00 PM ET at Red Bull Arena has been moved to Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 8:00 PM ET. The match will be broadcast nationally live on ESPN2.

“After a significant amount of consultation with Major League Soccer, local authorities and the Galaxy, we made this joint decision to postpone the game with the safety of fans, players and employees in the forefront of our minds,” said Red Bulls General Manager and Sporting Director Erik Soler. “We still expect a great match in October between two strong teams in a fantastic atmosphere at Red Bull Arena.”

Fans with tickets to the sold out Galaxy match will have the option of using the same ticket on the Tuesday, Oct. 4 date or exchange them for a ticket to one of the remaining 2011 New York Red Bulls regular season home games, based on availability.
