HARRISON, NJ (January 18th, 2012) - The New York Red Bulls are excited to announce the growth of their grassroots player development partnership with the Long Island Junior Soccer League. Moving forward, the Red Bulls will be the exclusive provider of the Long Island Junior Soccer League Community Camps.

The summer camps will be branded as Red Bulls Skills Camps and will be offered at select locations throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties, and LIJSL member clubs will have the opportunity to become host organizations.

The Skills Camps will also add another supporting layer to the Long Island-based Regional Development School program, a fully funded advanced level program that serves as a stepping stone into the Red Bulls Academy and ultimately the New York Red Bulls professional team.

“The LIJSL community camps have been an integral part of the league’s structure,” said Bob Montgomery, Director of Youth Development for the Red Bulls Academy. “This partnership will help to take the existing camp program to the next level in player development’.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with the Red Bulls organization on a program like this,” said LIJSL President Addie Mattei-Iaia.  “As the premier soccer organization in our area, the Red Bulls will make the camp program more accessible to a greater number of our young athletes and help us touch more communities here on Long Island, all while providing the highest quality coaching and instruction.

Each player attending a Skills Camp will have the opportunity to take part in the Red Bulls Skills Challenge with the ultimate winners being recognized on the field at a Red Bulls match. All campers will also receive a companion ticket to attend a match at Red Bull Arena, as well as a Red Bulls ball, t-shirt and certificate signed by the entire Red Bulls team.
