Charleston defeated Reading United AC 2-1 Tuesday night to punch their ticket to the U.S. Open Cup, the oldest soccer competition in the United States.

New York is 0-2 all-time against Charleston in U.S. Open Cup play, getting knocked out in the Second Round on June 26, 2001, 4-1, and in the Fourth Round on July 20, 2004, 1-0. Both games took place at Blackbaud Stadium, which also stands as the venue for the May 29 meeting.
