The New York Red Bulls announced today that their Fourth Round U.S. Open Cup match against the Harrisburg City Islanders on Tuesday, June 5 will be streamed online at www.newyorkredbulls.com. The game is set to kick off at 7 PM from the Skyline Sports Complex in Harrisburg, PA.

This will be the second time in the past three years that the Red Bulls will square off against the City Islanders. Harrisburg upset New York in the third round of 2010 Open Cup with a 1-0 victory in extra time. Last year, the Red Bulls were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the tournament following a 4-0 defeat to the Chicago Fire.

New York advanced to fourth round this year, notching a 3-0 victory over the Charleston Battery in South Carolina on May 29. Goals were scored by Kenny Cooper, Heath Pearce, and Connor Lade in the shutout win.

The City Islanders advanced in a more dramatic fashion, punching their ticket to the fourth round in after winning on penalty kicks over the New England Revolution. The game went to overtime scoreless, but the Revolution broke out for three goals in the first period of extra time. Harrisburg fought back with three goals of their own in the second period of extra time, sending the game to penalty kicks, where Harrisburg defeated New England, 4-3.

The winner of this match will advance to the quarterfinals of the 99th Lamar Hunt U.S Open Cup, where they will face the victor of the D.C United-Philadelphia Union match. If it advances, New York would travel to United’s RFK Stadium or the Union’s PPL Park June 26 for its quarterfinals game.

Created in 1914, the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is the oldest soccer competition in the United States. The single-elimination tournament, which is similar to the prestigious English FA Cup, is open to all amateur and professional teams affiliated with the United States Soccer Federation (U.S.S.F).
