The New York Red Bulls U-14 squad defeated the East Side Academy (OR) 9-0 and the Chicago Sockers 7-0 Sunday evening to advance to the semifinals at the NPL Nationals in Chicago.
In the semis, New York posted yet another clean sheet when they defeated the Chicago Magic in a low-scoring, 1-0 affair.
The Red Bulls' Ethan Lochner scored the lone goal in New York's win, as the defense took the brunt of Chicago's attack and was quick to absorb the offensive chances.
New York and FC Dallas each posted the two best regular season record in the country this year and will now face one another in the Finals, set to kick off Tuesday afternoon in Chicago.
