The Red Bulls improved on their perfect home record Friday night with a 2-0 shutout win over the Houston Dynamo. The 'W' helped the Red Bulls reclaim first place in the Eastern Conference and padded their home record to 8-0-3.
Tim Cahill registered two assists in his home debut, as he helped facilitate a Markus Holgersson goal in the 61st minute and picked up the secondary assist on Jan Gunnar Solli's goal in the 92nd minute.
The Red Bulls return to action Sunday, Aug. 19, when they host the Portland Timbers for a 7 PM kickoff on MSG. The first 5,000 fans 12 and under will receive a free Ryan Meara jersey tee upon entry.
