The New York Red Bulls' Regional Development School (RDS) is a satellite based, pre-academy feeder system. The RDS offers advanced soccer players the opportunity to develop their game on a supplementary basis, and is now widely recognized as the single most successful route into the Academy teams.
Red Bulls Training Programs are excited to announce the latest in a long line of recent program enhancements, with the introduction of a cost-free Regional Development School (RDS) exclusively for boys born in 2000.
As a Red Bulls pre-academy feeder system, RDS has been responsible for over 90% of players recently selected for the youngest academy teams. This year, the region’s leading Academy system will be forming its newest team, comprised of 2000 birth years, and the RDS is again well poised to graduate another exceptionally talented class.
In partnership with Capelli Sports, of Carlstadt, NJ, the RDS will offer six weeks of fully-funded spring training, for the area’s top male talent in this age group. The training program will provide players with an opportunity to fine tune their game in the most competitive environment possible in preparation for Academy try-outs, tentatively scheduled for May/June 2013.
Open exclusively to boys born between Jan 1st and Dec 31st, 2000, the Carlstadt RDS provides a central location for the metropolitan region, and will attract the strongest talent in this pre-academy age pool. Only the highest level players, with aspirations of joining Red Bulls Academy, are encouraged to apply.
For those not yet eligible for this exclusive cost-free program, the RDS continues to offer a range of alternate locations, open to all ages and genders.
For more information on all RDS locations, including the cost-free Carlstadt RDS, visit the Red Bulls Training website. The on-line schedule contains all details on dates, times, locations, and fees.
For players not yet ready for the RDS, Red Bulls are hosting U6-U10 developmental clinics, also to be held at Capelli Sports, in Carlstadt, NJ. These open-registration clinics will operate through the Spring season, and more information can be found here.
