ABOUT THE MATCH
New York will take on a Crew squad that is coming off a comprehensive 3-0 home win versus D.C. United last Saturday. Dominic Oduro, Josh Williams and Federico Higuain all found the back of the net for the Crew in the first half as Columbus moved to fifth place in the Eastern Conference with 12 points off a 3-2-3 record. The Red Bulls swept the season series with the Crew for the first time in club history in 2012, going 2-0-0 in regular season play. New York rolled to a 4-1 win on April 7 at Crew Stadium and then defeated Columbus, 3-1, on Sept. 15 at Red Bull Arena. The Red Bulls, who are currently unbeaten in their last four against their Eastern Conference rival (2-0-2), are 24-23-7 all-time and 10-14-3 on the road. This is the first of three meetings between New York and Columbus – the Crew comes to Red Bull Arena on May 26 while the Red Bulls have another match in Columbus on Aug. 10.
