The sell-out crowd at Red Bull Arena’s 1-0 win over the LA Galaxy this past weekend was privy to an exciting and dramatic finish when Red Bulls midfielder Tim Cahill headed home the game-winning goal in stoppage time.

The crowd erupted in cheers. The supporters proudly displayed their Tifo. And some special company applauded New York’s effort as well.

"It was a pleasure to host such legendary players during Sunday's match against the LA Galaxy," said Red Bulls General Manager, Jerome de Bontin. "Former Red Bull, World Cup winner and European star Youri Djorkaeff and U.S. National Team and former New York midfielder Tab Ramos - these are players who have made a huge impact on soccer throughout the world, and it was an honor to have them at Red Bull Arena."

End-to-end action was at the heart of Sunday’s match between the two sides, as LA and New York exchanged chances over the first 45 minutes, including a highlight-reel save from Red Bulls goalkeeper Luis Robles and a slow-rolling chip from forward Fabian Espindola that beat the ‘keeper but was cleared off the line.

In the first five minutes of the second, an Espindola curl just missed wide, matched shortly after by a Landon Donovan rocket on the other end of the pitch that sailed high and wide. Following a strong defensive outing from Red Bulls defender Jamison Olave, the match appeared to be on pace for each to escape with one point in a scoreless draw. That is, until Cahill placed a header on goal off a free kick opportunity from Juninho to allow New York to edge past their West Coast opponent.

After the final whistle blew and New York extended its unbeaten streak to six straight, both Djorkaeff and Ramos took a trip to the Red Bulls' locker room to congratulate Thierry Henry and midfielders Tim Cahill and Juninho on the team's 1-0 win.

"They not only had a great time at the match, but also witnessed a fantastic three-point result," said de Bontin. "A night like that, in front of a sold out crowd at Red Bull Arena, is a win-win for the organization and fans."

New York puts it six-game unbeaten streak to the test this Sunday when they take on the Columbus Crew in the second of three-straight home matches at Red Bull Arena. Get your tickets now at Red Bulls Ticket Central, or by calling 877.RB.SOCCER.
