Jamison Olave Named to MLSsoccer.com's Team of the Week for Second Consecutive Week

Last week, Jamison Olave's shutdown play against the LA Galaxy earned him a spot on MLSsoccer.com's Team of the Week. This week, that same defensive effort, combined with some stoppage-time heroics, secured a spot once again on the back line.


Olave's goal in the 91st minute of Sunday's match against the Columbus Crew allowed the Red Bulls to salvage a point in a 2-2 draw at Red Bull Arena. After taking a perfectly-placed through ball from midfielder Jonny Steele, Olave one-touched it to his left foot and ripped a shot past goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum with the dead-eye accuracy more akin to that of a striker. The tally marked his fourth of the year, a single-season best for the Colombian defender since he entered the league with Real Salt Lake in 2008.


This now marks the seventh straight week in which a Red Bull has been named to the league's Team of the Week, which consequently ties in perfectly with the club's current seven-game unbeaten streak.
