After clinching a spot in the 2013 MLS Cup Playoffs on Saturday with a dramatic 2-2 draw with the New England Revolution, the New York Red Bulls have two weeks to savor the accomplishment before they return to game action on October 20 against the Houston Dynamo.

So what are they doing with the break? NewYorkRedBulls.com investigates:

My son turns one on Saturday, so we’re going to have a birthday party for him. My in-laws are in town. They get in today and they’ll stay through Monday. I think we’re going to try to enjoy some of the Northeast Fall. We’re going to go to the Hudson River Valley and see what that’s about.
We have a bunch of people coming to the house, and we have a Smash Cake, and I think Roy Miller’s wife is actually making it. I don’t think [my son]’s going to have any idea what’s going on, though.
Mike Petke
I am going to take a few days off, because my son has a soccer tournament. What is it, Columbus Day this weekend? Columbus Day tournament. So I’m going to enjoy some youth soccer Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

I’ve got no plans. Right now, I’ve actually got no plans. I wouldn’t mind a couple of days away. My girlfriend’s in England at the minute, so she’s not going to be over. I’ll do something, maybe go into the City or something. I don’t know. See some friends. Nothing out of the ordinary.
It won’t be anything crazy. I need to stay sharp for Houston. We had a break earlier in the season, and when I came back I didn’t feel good, so I want to keep on top of it now. It’s at the crunch time of the season. I’m feeling good, man, getting better. I’ve been better the last two games, so third game I should be flying.
