HARRISON, N.J. – The New York Red Bulls U-23 are on the road in the second round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup tonight when they visit the Pittsburgh Riverhounds at Highmark Stadium for a 7 p.m. kick-off.

The Under-23s are coming off a 2-1 first round victory over the Vermont Voltage at the Red Bull Training Facility in East Hanover. In that match Scott Thomsen got the hosts off on the right foot with a coolly taken goal in the 18th minute before a Kendan Anderson strike was deflected off a defender and in the back of the net 17 minutes later. Vermont would cut the deficit to one midway through the second half but the Red Bulls held firm and moved on.

The Riverhounds are the lone winless team in the USL Pro and currently sit in last place with a 0-3-3 record. Forwards Jose Angulo and Collins John have two goals apiece this season. Angulo was briefly a Red Bulls player in 2012 and John is a striker who has previously played for Fulham and the Chicago Fire, among others, and has two international caps to his name with the Netherlands.

Tonight’s match will be live-streamed above, with kick-off slated for 7 p.m.
