HARRISON, N.J. (November 6, 2015) - The New York Red Bulls return home Sunday with a 1-0 lead over D.C. United entering the second leg of a home-and-home series in an Eastern Conference Semifinal matchup of the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs.

Kickoff is set for 3 p.m., with coverage on ESPN and ESPN Deportes. Red Bulls Radio Network will provide English and Spanish play-by-play. The English pre-game radio show begins at 2:30 p.m. while the Spanish pre-game radio show starts at 2:45 p.m. on www.newyorkredbulls.com. A special live episode of the Seeing Red podcast (www.seeingredny.com) will be broadcast live from Red Bull Arena beginning at 11 a.m., also available on www.newyorkredbulls.com.

The Red Bulls lead the series, 1-0, on aggregate score after captain Dax McCarty scored his first career goal against D.C. United last weekend at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. McCarty headed home a set piece from Sacha Kljestan in the 72nd minute to give New York the edge on the road.

Luis Robles set a new franchise record last week with his third career playoff win for New York. The goalkeeper was not required to make a save to earn his second career postseason shutout. Robles also shutout D.C. United in the first leg of last year's Eastern Conference Semifinal at Red Bull Arena.

The Red Bulls advanced beyond D.C. for the first time in five postseason series in 2014, buoyed by the 2-0 win at Red Bull Arena. New York is 3-7-3 all-time against D.C. in the playoffs, including a 2-3-0 home record.

New York returns to Red Bull Arena, where it went 12-3-2 this season, setting a new franchise record for home wins in a season. The Red Bulls outscored opponents, 35-18 at home in 2015. The Red Bulls also defeated D.C. twice at Red Bull Arena in 2015, earning a 2-0 victory over United in the home opener on March 22, and then taking another shutout, 3-0, in August.

Scenarios for advancement

  • The Red Bulls will advance on aggregate score with any win or draw.
  • A 1-0 D.C. United win would see the teams tied on aggregate, and also tied on the first tiebreaker, away goals, sending the series to two 15-minute overtime sessions, followed by penalties if needed.
  • The away goals rule is not in effect during overtime.
  • D.C. United would advance with any win aside from the 1-0 score line.
