#MetroMonday is a weekly blast from 19 seasons of soccer past.

April 30th, 2005 - Amado Guevara hangs three on Rapids
Amado Guevara was one of the most prolific scorers in franchise history and had one of his more memorable moments on snowy afternoon in Colorado. After New York started the 2005 season with a 0-1-2 record, Guevara recorded a hat trick on April 30 to give the MetroStars its first win of the season.
Just one season before in 2004, Guevara was named MLS MVP for his 10 goal, 10 assist and 24 appearances campaign. To this day, Guevara is the only MetroStar/Red Bull to be named league MVP.
Guevara was named to the MLS All-Star team three times (2003, 2004 and 2005) and was named the MLS All-Star Game MVP in 2004. The midfielder was also named team MVP in three out of his four seasons with New York (2003, 2004 and 2006).
Guevara made 103 appearances (100 starts) for New York and is fifth all-time on the club’s scoring chart with 36 goals. The midfielder is also tied with Tab Ramos for second place all-time on the club’s assist chart with 36, five behind current New York captain Thierry Henry.
