HARRISON, NJ (October 29, 2014) – The Red Bulls held a spirited practice on Wednesday at Red Bull Arena ahead of Thursday’s home playoff game against Sporting Kansas City.

The players were loose, but focused, and crisply ran through drills focused on decision making and finishing, including a fast-paced seven-on-seven.

Despite the club’s success against Kansas City this season, including a sound 2-0 win last Sunday, no one is taking the matchup lightly.

“They are a team that knows what it takes to win,” said Thierry Henry after the training session. ”They showed it last year. We haven’t done that yet, so you have to give them their respect, but know also that you can beat them. It’s another game. You can’t look at what we’ve done against them during the season. It’s going to be a different game on Thursday.”

The importance of getting to play such an important game at home was not lost on the team.

“The tone is set with us being here, straight away,” said Tim Cahill. “It’s great to play in our stadium, but the same intensity has to be in this game.”

Tomorrow night’s Eastern Conference knockout game is slated for 8:00 p.m. at Red Bull Arena. Should the Red Bulls win, they would host arch-rival D.C. United in the first leg of the East Conference Semifinals on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
