CHICAGO  – New York Red Bulls U-16 Academy team player Jean Paul Marin has been named to the 22-man roster for the  U.S. Soccer U-16 International camp in ClaireFontaine, France later this month, according to a release from U.S. Soccer.

Marin (Pictured top row, second from right), a native of Rego Park, N.Y., plays forward for the Red Bulls, and has been a mainstay as part of the U-16s current unbeaten season.

“JP is a very talented player and is very comfortable with the ball at his feet,” said Red Bulls U-16 coach Rob Elliot.

“He has a unique ability to dribble past players. We are happy for him to be called into the National Team camp and we are sure he will represent the club well,” continued Elliot.

The camp, which will run from November 13-21, will be run by U.S. Soccer technical advisor and former D.C. United defender Clint Peay. Peay is also a former assistant coach for the U.S. U-17 Boys National Team.

The squad will train in ClaireFontaine, near Paris, and will face France’s U-16 team on Thursday, November 20th. Plans to play a French club team are also in the works.

Marin is one of nine MLS academy players on the roster.
