Youth Partner Spotlight | Rye Brook Youth Soccer -

The New York Red Bulls boast one of the strongest youth programs not just in MLS, but across the country. In addition to finding and developing local players that keep the academy teams near the top of the national rankings, the Red Bulls have demonstrated their commitment to the future of youth soccer in New York and New Jersey. The organization maintains partnerships with over 100 youth soccer programs, providing camps, clinics and in-house training from certified and professional Red Bull youth coaches.

Each month, NewYorkRedBulls.com will feature one of these partners in our Red Bulls Youth Partner Program Spotlight.

Rye Brook Youth Soccer

The Rye Brook Youth Soccer (RBYS) program, established in 1997, aims to provide the highest quality soccer experience for children and balances participation with competitive play in a fun and challenging environment. Located in Rye, N.Y., RBYS serves more than 400 kids from Pre-K to high school.

The organization consists of a pre-travel program for children from Kindergarten to 2nd grade to help prepare kids transition from recreation to travel soccer. For kids from 3rd grade to high school, teams are a part of the travel program. RBYS have approximately 25 teams that compete in the Westchester Youth Soccer League in both the Fall and Spring seasons.

The New York Red Bulls and RBYS have been partners for eight years. Prior to RBYS’ season, the board sits down with Red Bulls management to plan the calendar year to ensure the best possible success for the season ahead. The Red Bulls provide guidance to trainers, meet with Rye Brook parents, coaches and volunteers for complete alignment for those involved in training the players.

“Our triple aim at the club is to have professional, high quality soccer training in a fun environment,” RBYS president Mouris Saghir said. “The Red Bulls fulfill the triple aim we have for our club and they are very professional, possess high quality soccer skills and create a friendly and fun soccer environment allowing kids to thrive and love the game of soccer.”

Since the inception of this partnership, RBYS has reported higher soccer IQ among players, improved technical and tactical skills and significant improvement in the last several years to their Modified, JV and Varsity teams in part due to Red Bulls training and influence.

“Red Bulls Training Programs is proud to continue to have such a strong partnership with Rye Brook Youth Soccer,” Training Program Representative John Birchall said. “The program provides children within in the community a place to develop their skills in an environment that is true to our own philosophy of being fun, yet challenging, where learning is constantly taking place in both soccer development and life lessons. The board, with Mouris as president, are always open to, and striving for, new initiatives on how to improve the program on a regular basis and it continues to grow from strength to strength each and every season.”
