Red Bull U-16's (1) vs Bethesda-Olney (0)
March 15, 2015 at New York Red Bulls Training Facility (Hanover, NJ)

The U16’s extended their winning start to the USDA season with a hard fought 1-0 home win over Bethesda-Olney on Sunday afternoon at the Red Bulls Training Facility. The goal came just before halftime when a well worked move down the right side resulted in Sean Teixeria's driven cross being converted at the far post by Omir Fernandez, from close range.

The Red Bulls worked hard in the second half to create chances to their lead and were denied by two excellent saves from the Bethesda goalkeeper which kept the score line close, but Fernandez's 11th goal of the season would prove to be the game winner.  The Red Bulls backline was tested late on as Bethesda committed numbers forward but were able to stand firm to preserve the shutout.

“It was a great game in hard conditions," said goal scorer Omir Fernandez. "I’m proud of the guys with the work we have put in and it showed in the game as we had good spells of soccer. Glad to have scored again and keep the undefeated streak going.”

Red Bull U-14's (2) vs Cedar Stars Academy (2)
March 15, 2015 at Red Bulls Training Facility (Hanover, NJ)

The U-14 Red Bulls dug themselves a 2-0 hole before making a strong comeback to tie Cedar Stars Academy 2-2 at the weekend. The Red Bulls had themselves to blame after giving away a penalty kick that was missed but was finished on the rebound by Cedar Stars as the young Red Bulls were late to react. Two minutes later a bad giveaway in the back led to a Cedar Stars shot that was saved by the Red Bulls keeper, but again the young Red Bulls were caught ball watching as Cedar Stars hustled to finish the rebound to go up 2-0. The U-14's found themselves in a position they have not been in all year—down two goals.

They pulled within a goal before halftime when defender Jared Julieu scored off a cross by winger Jack Valderabanno. In the second half the Red Bulls continued to press and eventually tied the game when Valderrabanno scored off a heel pass from Thriston Briscoe. It looked as if the Red Bulls would take the lead after Valderabanno scored off a cross from Ben Mines but the play was deemed offsides. The Red Bulls held a commanding 17-4 advantage in shots but had to settle for a draw.

NY Lineup: Billy Zykowski, Chris Gloster, Ben Bograd (Reed Kessler, 66), Jared Julieu, Jordan Bailon, Nick Schimbeno, Ben Mines, Kevin Alvarado (Thriston Briscoe 35'), Jack Valderrabanno, Grant Barrientos (Elijah Kerr 60'), Val Ambrosio (Gray Ricca 66').

Red Bull U-13's (3) vs. Bethesda-Olney (1)
March 15, 2015 at Red Bull Training Facility (Hanover, NJ)

The U-13 Red Bulls kicked off their spring season just as they left off in the fall with a win over Bethesda on March 15th at the RBTF. The high tempo set by the Bulls from the opening whistle proved to be too much for the visiting side as Jordon May found the back of the net early in the 1st half.  Bethesda managed to pull one back against the run of play just before halftime from a penalty decision.  The Bethesda forward made no mistake to convert the spot kick that was well placed in the top corner giving the Red Bulls keeper no chance at the ball despite guessing correctly.

After entering halftime 1-1, the Red Bulls started the 2nd half with the same intensity and high pressure they applied throughout the 1st half and the commitment to their game plan once again paid off after earning a corner kick that was headed in by forward Kejiel Watt. The Red Bulls would end the day with one more goal that without question should be considered goal off the match.  Alex Quezada showed tremendous skill and poise dribbling past two Bethesda defenders and neatly tucking the ball away passed the outstretched keeper.

SCORING SUMMARY:
Minute, Goal, Assist

19' Jordon May, Kejiel Watt

46' Kejiel Watt, Danny Jara

75' Alex Quezada (unassisted)
