HANOVER, N.J. (May 6, 2015) – The New York Red Bulls held training at the Red Bulls Training Facility four days ahead of the highly anticipated New York Derby. Today was tournament day, where the players were split into teams and played short, competitive games.

There was a focused atmosphere around the squad as head coach Jesse Marsch divided the boys into four teams. Each team was made of First Team players and two to three Red Bulls II players. The games were played on condensed pitches, challenging players to play quick and efficient soccer.

The Red Bulls played 7v7 games. Matches were eight minutes of all-out intensity, played at a blistering pace full of quick passes and movements. The atmosphere was tense and every player was all business. Guys provided help to young players and all participants were vocal on the pitch. The teams played three games and switched fields after eight minutes expired.

New York Red Bulls will be in action on Sunday, May 10, at Red Bull Arena in the inaugural New York Derby against New York City FC. Coverage begins at 7 p.m. EDT (TV: FOX Sports 1; RADIO: RBNY English/Spanish Internet Radio).
