The New York Red Bulls return home on Sunday, August 9 to host the third and final meeting with New York City FC. The New York Derby kicks off at 7 p.m., with coverage on Fox Sports 1 and Fox Deportes. The Red Bulls will also provide English and Spanish radio broadcasts via www.newyorkredbulls.com. The English radio will also be available nationwide on Sirius XM FC Channel 94.

The Red Bulls have taken each of the first two matchups, first a 2-1 win at Red Bull Arena on May 10, and then a 3-1 victory at Yankee Stadium on June 28.

The Red Bulls enter unbeaten in their last four after a road draw on Wednesday evening in Montreal. Lloyd Sam got his sixth goal of the year to give New York a share of the points, getting on the end of a long cross from the wing off the foot of Mike Grella.

RBNY won its previous three meetings, including two consecutive road wins over Orlando City and Philadelphia. The Red Bulls are 5-1-1 since snapping a four-game losing streak with a win over Real Salt Lake on June 24. New York earned its ninth win of the season on August 1 in Philly. It took the 2014 squad until September 10 to reach nine wins.

Bradley Wright-Phillips continues to lead the team with nine goals, and is tied for the lead with six assists. Dax McCarty now also has six helpers after stringing together five assists over a recent three-game span. Lloyd Sam is second on the team with six goals after scoring in Montreal, surpassing his previous MLS season-high of five, set back in 2013. With that tally, Sam joined an elite club, becoming just the seventh player in team history to record 15 goals and 15 assists in their New York career.

New York City FC lost last weekend at home to Montreal, 3-2. NYC sits in eighth in the MLS Eastern Conference with a 6-10-6 record. David Villa leads the team with 13 goals, followed by Patrick Mullins and Thomas McNamara with four each. Kwadwo Poku’s six assists are a team high.

After Sunday, the Red Bulls remain home for a match against Toronto FC on Saturday, July 15 at Red Bull Arena.
