HARRISON, N.J. (October 10, 2015) – New York Red Bulls winger Lloyd Sam has been called into the Ghanaian National Team, the club announced today. Sam will join Ghana today and be with the team through Tuesday, when Ghana faces Canada at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C. in an international friendly.

Sam will then join the Red Bulls in Toronto ahead of Wednesday night’s MLS clash with Toronto FC (7:00 p.m. ET, MSG).

After joining New York in 2012, Sam worked his way into being a regular for the Red Bulls in 2013. He appeared in 22 games in 2013, and made 32 starts last year. He has 10 goals this season after finding the back of the net in the last three contests, doubling his previous MLS career high. Sam also has six assists in 2015.

Earlier this summer Sam became the seventh player in club history to join the 15&15 club, reaching 15 goals and 15 assists in MLS league play. He now has 87 league appearances for New York, with 19 goals and 17 assists.

Sam has previously appeared on the international stage at the Under-20 level for England.
