BY THE NUMBERS: A numerical look at Red Bulls vs. Toronto FC

In both teams’ third-to-last game of the season, Toronto FC (14-13-4) will host the New York Red Bulls (16-9-6) on Wednesday, October 14. It will be the second meeting between the two teams this season. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. EDT and the game will be broadcast on MSG, with pregame coverage beginning at 6:30. The Red Bulls are chasing the Supporters’ Shield and looking to keep their hold on the Eastern Conference while Toronto FC are hoping to clinch their first ever playoff spot.

Here are some numbers to know ahead of Wednesday’s matchup:

3: Toronto’s current win streak of 3 matches is tied for their longest of the season and in their history. Toronto has never won 4 matches in a row.

4: The Red Bulls have won four of the matches they’ve played on Wednesdays in all competitions, drawing two and losing two – but the losses were both away matches.

10: Lloyd Sam’s goal in last Wednesdays’ match against Montreal Impact was his 10th of the season. It was also the third match in a row in which he’s scored.

12: Toronto FC’s second-leading goal scorer behind Sebastian Giovinco, who has 21 goals but who will be out for international duty, is Jozy Altidore with 12 goals. Their third-leading, Michael Bradley, has 5.

16: Bradley Wright-Phillips seeks his 16th goal of the season. He opened the scoring the last time these two teams met, a 3-0 win for the Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena.

20: The Red Bulls have scored in their past 20 matches, not failing to do so since their loss to Philadelphia Union on May 24 and not failing to do so in an away match since May 15.

31: If Luis Robles keeps a clean sheet, he will pass Tony Meola in all-time, all competition shutouts. They’re currently tied at 30.

54: 54 is the both the amount of points the Red Bulls currently have and most amount of points the teams sitting behind the Red Bulls can get. This means, with at least a draw against Toronto, the Red Bulls would clinch the Eastern Conference and get home field advantage for the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs.

55: Both Toronto FC and the Red bulls have scored 55 goals this season, the most in the league.

64: The Red Bulls have gotten a result in 64% of the 11 matches they’ve played at BMO Field (3 wins, 4 draws).
