HEAD TO HEAD: News and notes ahead of #NYvDAL -

The New York Red Bulls look to continue their winning ways on Friday, April 29 vs. FC Dallas at Red Bull Arena.


The match will kick off at 7:00pm, with coverage on UniMás, Univision, and the Red Bulls Radio Network on TuneIn.


The Red Bulls are coming off a much-needed win in their last game, at home against Orlando City SC. New York won 3-2 with a brace from forward Bradley Wright-Phillips; and a goal and an assist from forward Mike Grella. FC Dallas’s last game was a 3-0 away defeat to the Vancouver Whitecaps.


The Red Bulls are 2-2-0 at Red Bull Arena this season while Dallas is sitting at the top of the Western Conference with a 2-2-0 record on the road. This will be the teams’ first and only meeting during the regular season.


In their last matchup in May of last season, New York and Dallas drew 0-0 in an extremely even and defensive matchup.


At the conclusion of MLS Week 8, Red Bulls Forward Bradley Wright-Phillips and Midfielder Sacha Kljestan were named to the MLS Team of the Week, thanks to Kljestan’s two assists and Wright-Phillips’ two goals.


After playing Dallas, the Red Bulls will travel to Camping World Stadium to play Orlando City SC on Friday, May 6th. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. with coverage on Red Bulls Radio Network and Unimas. 


GAME NOTES

  • Bradley Wright-Phillips netted his first two goals of the season and the Red Bulls put an end to a four-game losing slide, taking a dramatic 3-2 win against Orlando City SC on Sunday evening at Red Bull Arena.
  • FC Dallas had their six-game undefeated streak put to an end, in a 3-0 loss to Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday evening at BC Place.
  • The Red Bulls have a three-game undefeated streak in the series, after the teams played to a scoreless draw in their only meeting a season ago, May 15 at Toyota Stadium. The Red Bulls had won the previous two meetings between the teams, both by 1-0 scorelines.
  • FC Dallas haven’t won at the Red Bulls since 2006, when they took a 2-1 victory at Giants Stadium. FCD have never won at Red Bull Arena (0-1-2). The Red Bulls have won on three of their last five visits to Frisco, with one draw, in both league and MLS Cup play.
