NYRB II’s Top Five Moments: John Wolyniec, Brandon Allen and Aaron Long Earn USL Awards

Red Bulls II enjoyed a record setting year in 2016, earning many accolades and gathering up trophies along the way. Not only did the team win the USL Cup, they also garnered several individual accomplishments.


Red Bulls II were nominated for four of the five awards, and won three of them.


Head Coach John Wolyniec was voted the USL Coach of the Year. Forward Brandon Allen was awarded the USL Rookie of the Year and was also nominated for USL Most Valuable Player. Defender Aaron Long was named the USL Defender of the Year.


Additionally, Brandon Allen and Aaron Long were named to the USL All-League First Team while Zach Carroll was tabbed for the Second Team.


The 2016 USL Awards were voted on by team management and a league-wide media panel that included representation from every USL market.
