HARRISON, N.J. (July 5, 2025) – New York Red Bulls II (10-2-3, 34 pts) return home to face Huntsville City FC (5-3-5, 23 pts) on Sunday, July 6 at MSU Soccer Park. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. Philip Galati will be on the call.
New York sit atop of the Eastern Conference and have gone unbeaten in seven-straight matches, which is the third-longest unbeaten streak in club history. The group is coming off a 3-3 home draw against FC Cincinnati 2 on Sunday, June 29. Cincinnati opened the scoring in the 21st minute gathering a rebound off a penalty kick save by goalkeeper Aidan Stokes. Midfielder Nehuen Benedetti equalized in 34th minute. He laced a left footed shot off the post and into the back of the net. Red Bulls II took the lead two minutes later. Forward Wiktor Bogacz tapped in a rebound off the crossbar. Cincinnati leveled in first half stoppage time from a shot outside the box from Andres Mosquera. Red Bulls II regained the lead in the 50th minute. Forward Mijahir Jimenez was taken down in the box to draw a penalty kick. Forward Julian Hall stepped up and buried his attempt into the bottom left corner. Cincinnati equalized in the 78th minute off a Red Bulls II own goal. The match would go on to a penalty kick shootout, where Cincinnati took a 5-3 advantage.
Huntsville City are fifth in the Eastern Conference and are coming off a 3-3 draw against Crown Legacy FC on Friday, June 20 at Wicks Family Field. Huntsville City forward Alan Carleston scored a brace, and the team fell 4-3 in a PK shootout.
Through three all-time MLS NEXT Pro matchups, New York holds the advantage going 2-1. The two sides last faced each other at Wicks Family Field on August 17, 2024. Huntsville City started strong with two first half goals in the ninth and 32nd minutes. Hall would get New York on the board in the 49th minute after striking a shot from outside the box that went bar down into the back of the net. Huntsville earned a 3-1 lead in the 66th minute. Midfielder Rafael Mosquera scored a late goal in the 89th minute, striking a shot from outside the box into the top right corner however Huntsville City would hold on to earn a 3-2 victory.
