New York are on their second-longest win streak in club history with six straight wins. They sit top of the Eastern Conference and are coming off a 2-1 road victory over Carolina Core FC on June 21. Forward Tanner Rosborough scored his sixth goal of the season by scoring the opener against Carolina. Carolina equalized towards the end of the first half in the 39th minute. Midfielder Nehuen Benedetti scored the game-winning goal in the 50th minute when he laced a rebound from inside the box into the top right corner.

Cincinnati are 14th in the Eastern Conference and are coming off two points against Chattanooga FC. After both sides went scoreless in 90 minutes, the teams went to an eight-round shootout that saw Cincinnati take an 8-7 advantage.

New York found the scoresheet in the 64th minute courtesy of an own goal, and Cincinnati held on to earn a 3-1 victory.
