HARRISON, N.J. (May 28, 2025) – New York Red Bulls II (6-2-2, 21 pts) to host Atlanta United 2 (2-2-6, 14 pts) at MSU Soccer Park on Friday May 30. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on Apple TV – MLS Season Pass with James Hadnot on the call.
New York sits in second place in the Eastern Conference and are tied with the 2016 side for best start through 10 matches in club history. Red Bulls II are coming off a clinical 1-0 victory over Columbus Crew 2 at Historic Crew Stadium on May 25. New York scored the lone goal of the match in the 89th minute. Midfielder Andy Rojas made a lateral dribble and was taken down at the top of the box. Defender Matthew Dos Santos stepped up to take the free kick and curled his attempt into the top right corner.
Atlanta is ninth in the Eastern Conference and were last in action on May 25 at Osceola Heritage Park against Orlando City B. They earned a 3-0 victory, opening things up with a 4th minute goal from forward Gabriel Wesseh. Fellow forward Cayman Togashi finished things off in the second half with a brace after finding the back of the net in the 45th and 68th minute.
Through four all time MLS NEXT Pro matches, Red Bulls II are undefeated against Atlanta going 3-0-1. New York has beaten Atlanta by a margin of 12-5, and has yet to be held scoreless, scoring four or more goals in two matches.
Red Bulls II last faced Atlanta to open their 2025 campaign on March 7. Rojas scored the decider in the 51st minute when he won a second ball and dribbled 20 yards into the box and curled a left footed shot into the top left corner to secure a 1-0 victory.
Following Friday’s match, New York will travel to Mecklenburg County Sportsplex for a midweek clash against Crown Legacy FC on Wednesday June 4. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. with coverage on MLSNEXTPro.com.
