HARRISON, N.J. (August 29, 2025) – New York Red Bulls II (14-5-4, 48 pts) to host Columbus Crew 2 (4-14-4, 17 pts) at MSU Soccer Park on Sunday August 31. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV. Josh Appel will be on the call.

New York have hit form winning three of their last four matches and sit top of the Eastern Conference. Red Bulls II became the first team in the Eastern Conference to clinch a spot in the MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs last week courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Chicago Fire FC II at MSU Soccer Park on August 24. Defender Juan Gutierrez broke the scoreless tie in the 65th minute, heading in a corner kick from midfielder Nate Worth. New York kept the clean sheet and goalkeeper Aidan Stokes made two saves. This is his sixth clean sheet of the season, which is tied for most clean sheets in the MLS NEXT Pro.

Columbus are in 15th place in the Eastern Conference. They’re coming off a 3-1 loss to NYCFC II on Friday, August 22 at Icahn Stadium.

Through six all-time MLS NEXT Pro matchups, New York hold the advantage going 3-2-1. This will be the third matchup this season between the two sides with Red Bulls II finding the win in both.

The clubs last faced one another on July 31 at Historic Crew Stadium. Midfielder Andy Rojas opened the scoring in the ninth minute. New York received a red card in the 44th minute but held on to win thanks to a 48th minute goal from midfielder Aiden Jarvis and six saves from goalkeeper Austin Causey.

Red Bulls II have been virtually unbeatable at home this season going 8-1-2. Their eight wins at home so far this season is tied for the most in MLS NEXT Pro and most in the Eastern Conference. The eight home wins are also tied for the third-most in a single season in club history and tied for most home wins in MLS NEXT Pro play in club history. The side also has won seven of their last eight home matches.

Following Sunday’s match, New York will travel to Wicks Family Field on Saturday, September 13 to face Huntsville City FC. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV.
