HARRISON, N.J. (July 25, 2025) – New York Red Bulls II (11-3-4, 39 pts) travel to SeatGeek Stadium to face Chicago Fire FC II (8-5-4, 30 pts) on Sunday, July 27. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on MLSNEXTPro.com with Ryan Le on the call.

New York sits first place in the Eastern Conference and were last in action on July 20 against Hudson River Derby rivals NYCFC II. Forward Mijahir Jiménez had a day scoring his first career hat trick and tacked on an assist to midfielder Nehuén Benedetti to earn a 4-2 victory.

Chicago are fourth in the Eastern Conference and last played against Toronto FC II on July 20. The side was down 2-1 in the 49th minute, but a second half Jason Shokalook brace completed a comeback to earn a 3-2 road win.

This will be the second matchup of the season between the two sides. New York is 4-1-2 across seven MLS NEXT Pro matches against Chicago. The two clubs last faced each other on April 6 at MSU Soccer Park. Red Bulls II opened the scoring in the 14th minute thanks to a curled free kick goal from defender Matthew Dos Santos. Fire II evened the match in the 49th minute, but New York responded with a touch and turn goal from forward Julian Hall in the 72nd minute. Midfielder Ibrahim Kasule sealed the deal in the 89th minute with a strike from the top of the box into the top corner. Chicago found the scoresheet in the first minute of stoppage time, but Red Bulls II hung on to earn a 3-2 victory.

Matchups between New York and Chicago don’t lack goals. Through seven all-time MLS NEXT Pro matchups, New York have scored four or more goals in four matches, including scoring five in two matches. The two sides have combined for five or more goals in five matches.

Red Bulls II have had some notable offensive performances against Fire II. Forward Roald Mitchell scored a first half haul against Chicago on April 14, 2024. Kasule has two career braces against Fire II and has scored in five of his last seven appearances against the side for a total of six goals which leads the current roster.
