MONTCLAIR, N.J. (March 23, 2023) - New York Red Bulls II (1-0-0 3 pts.) are set for their third match in eight days as they host Inter Miami CF II (1-0-0 3 pts.) at MSU Soccer Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. ET with coverage available on MLSNEXTPro.com.

New York has had a busy week to kick off their 2024 campaign, having already played two matches over the course of this week. First up was reigning Eastern Conference champion Columbus Crew 2 on Sunday, where Red Bulls II earned a hard fought three points in a 2-0 victory. The club then had a quick turnaround to face Hudson Valley Hammers in the first round of the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. New York dominated in the match and cruised to a 5-1 victory to advance in the tournament.

On the opposing side of tomorrow’s matchup, Inter Miami CF II are fresh off a huge win in their MLS NEXT Pro season opener against New York City FC II. Miami earned all three points in a back-and-forth battle at home, with forward Leonardo Afonso securing a brace in the 83rd minute to top New York City, 3-2.

In the two contests between these clubs in 2023, New York had the edge in just about every aspect. Red Bulls II won both matchups and did not concede a goal against this Miami club, having posted a 4-0 goal differential in that span. Ibrahim Kasule and Frank Ssebufu both had goals in New York’s trip to Miami on July 2 of 2023.

New York is coming off a match with plenty of milestones that came from throughout the roster. To start, three players scored their first goals with the club, including Dylan Sullivan, Aiden Jarvis, and Malick Dembele. Dembele was one of three players in the match to make their debut for the club as well. First team goalkeeper and Red Bulls Academy product Aidan Stokes started in net for the first time and posted six saves in the victory. In addition to Stokes, current Red Bulls Academy player Adri Mehmeti also made his debut. The 14-year-old became the youngest player to appear in a match in Red Bulls II history at 14 years and 350 days old, passing Tanner Rosborough who set the mark last season.
