MONTCLAIR, N.J. (June 25, 2023) - New York Red Bulls II (6-4-4, 24 pts.) return home after a two-game road trip to face FC Cincinnati 2 (4-6-3 16 pts.) at MSU Soccer Park. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET and coverage is available on MLSNEXTPro.com.

Last weekend, New York traveled down to Charlotte to face a Conference leading Crown Legacy FC side. After a strong defensive battle on both sides that resulted in a 1-1 draw, the match headed to a shootout to determine the second point in the standings. Red Bulls II left North Carolina with a point following a shootout loss.

Even though Cincinnati are at the bottom of the standings, they are coming into today’s match having just had their most important win of the season. The club defeated a strong New England Revolution II side at home 2-1 to secure their first win in three weeks.

This will be the first time that these two clubs face off in MLS NEXT Pro, with the two teams having last faced in June of 2018 in the USL Championship. With new faces and a new league, New York will look to start on the right foot against Cincinnati.

Midfielder Ibrahim Kasule is going into Sunday's match on fire, having scored four goals and recorded two assists over the past five matches. Kasule scored goals in three consecutive matches against Huntsville, Orlando, and New England. He got on the scoresheet yet again last week against Crown Legacy FC.

New York’s defensive dominance continues to be one of the top causes for the team’s success this season. The club still holds the second highest save percentage in the league at 76.6% and are tied for the most clean sheets in the Eastern Conference with five on the year.

The II’s will look to continue their recent success at home this season, with the side winning three in a row at MSU Soccer Park. New York now holds a 4-2-1 record at home following the last matchup against New England Revolution II that resulted in a 4-1 victory.
