FOXBOROUGH, MA (October 6, 2023) - New York Red Bulls II (#4 Seed) have made the trip to Foxborough for their Eastern Conference Semifinal match against New England Revolution II (#2 Seed). Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET and coverage is available on MLS Season Pass with Apple TV.

New York will continue their playoff journey after a convincing 4-1 victory against Chicago Fire FC II at MSU Soccer Park on Sunday. The goal scorers for Red Bulls II would come as no surprise to those who have kept up with the club this season, with O’Vonte Mullings, Frank Ssebufu, and Ibrahim Kasule (twice) all finding the back of the net. The club improved their undefeated home playoff record to 4-0-2.

New England are coming off an impressive win of their own in their first-round matchup against the seventh seeded Philadelphia Union II. Revs II had a 3-0 lead up until the 78th minute, when Philadelphia began a comeback that would come up just short after bringing the score to 3-2. Marcos Dias had a goal for New England and Esmir Bajraktarevic recorded a brace in the victory.

While New England had a fantastic regular season that led to them being the second seed in the Eastern Conference, Red Bulls II have arguably given Revs II the most problems whenever these two clubs face off. New York had the advantage in the season series, posting a record of (2-0-1 8 pts.) in their three matches this year.

The most recent contest was a defensive battle with some late drama at Gillette Stadium on August 6th. The scoring wouldn’t start until the 62nd minute, when Revs II forward Jordan Adebayo Smith got his side on the board. New York would manage to find an equalizer in stoppage time thanks to a strike from captain O’Vonte Mullings. Red Bulls II would come out on top in the shootout 4-3 and take home the second point in the standings.

New York Red Bulls II will have to have their defense continue what they have done all season long and prevent New England from getting shots on target. Revs II rank second in MLS NEXT Pro in shot percentage at 42.5%, even though they are in the middle of the pack in total shots on target with 155. The defensive line and goalkeeping for Red Bulls II will be up for the challenge, as the club has the third highest save percentage in the league at 72.3% and the third most clean sheets with nine.
