NEWPORT, KY (July 22, 2023) - New York Red Bulls II (8-6-4, 30 pts.) have taken the trip to Kentucky for the second matchup of the season against FC Cincinnati 2 (5-8-4 21 pts.) at NKU Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. ET and coverage is available on MLS Season Pass with Apple TV.

New York is looking to repeat the performance that they had against this Cincinnati side last month in a dominant 3-1 victory. Goals from Frank Ssebufu, Ibrahim Kasule, and Davi Alexandre were enough for Red Bulls II to get the win at MSU Soccer Park in the first matchup between these two clubs in MLS NEXT Pro.

Red Bulls II are coming off their first stretch of back-to-back losses this season, after dropping two matches against NYCFC II and Philadelphia Union II. Last weekend in Philly, Ibrahim Kasule had the lone goal in a 2-1 loss as New York fell in their second matchup against Union II.

Cincinnati arguably just had their biggest win of the year in a 3-1 victory at home against Inter Miami CF II. It was the fourth time this season that the side has scored three goals or more in a match as they will attempt to carry that momentum into today's match on their home field.

As has been the main story over the past two months for New York Red Bulls II, Ugandan midfielder Ibrahim Kasule has been on an absolute tear. In his last nine matches, Kasule has scored eight goals and tallied four assists, which leads the club for both categories this season. He continued his hot streak last weekend in Philadelphia with a penalty kick goal in the 80th minute. The midfielder is now a perfect 4-4 from the spot this season.

Red Bulls II now hold a 3-3-3 record on the road after starting unbeaten in the first five matches away from home this year. On the other hand, all five of Cincinnati’s wins on the season have been while they are at home, as they currently have a 5-2-2 record at NKU Soccer Stadium.

New signing Rafael Mosquera will be available for today’s match, as the club announced his loan from C.D. Plaza Amador earlier today.
