MATCH PREVIEW: Red Bull New York II to Host Columbus Crew 2 at MSU Soccer Park on Sunday, April 26

HARRISON, N.J. (April 25, 2026) – Red Bull New York II (4-0-2, 14 pts) to host Columbus Crew 2 (4-2-1, 14 pts.) at MSU Soccer Park on Sunday, April 26. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. ET with coverage available on OneFootball and MLSNEXTPRO.com.

New York sits in second in the Eastern Conference and are one of four teams in MLS NEXT Pro to remain unbeaten in through the first six matches of the season. Red Bulls II is coming off a strong 3-1 victory over FC Cincinnati 2 on April 19 at MSU Soccer Park that included a first career brace from midfielder Dennis Gjengaar and the second goal in two matches for winger Andy Rojas. Midfielder Marco Morigi and defender Jason Bori each made their MLS NEXT Pro debuts.

Columbus is third in the Eastern Conference and have won their last two matches. They were last in action on April 18 at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field where Crew 2 took a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from midfielder Kevn Gbamble and midfielder Zachary Zengue. 

The two sides kicked off their 2026 MLS NEXT Pro campaigns against each other on March 1 at Sports Illustrated Stadium. The match had an eventful first half where the sides combined for six goals scored. New York stole the show with four first half goals courtesy of a brace from forward Roald Mitchell, and one goal each from forward Tanner Rosborough and winger Rafael Mosquera, while Columbus found two goals from midfielder Kevin Gbamble and forward Chase Adams. The sides were both held scoreless in the second half and Red Bulls II held on to win 4-2.

Through eight all time matches, New York have posted a 5-2-1 all time regular season record against Columbus Crew 2. The side are unbeaten in four consecutive matchups against Columbus and have outscored them 14-7 in that span.

Mitchell leads the active roster with five career goals scored against Crew 2.
