New York is second in the Eastern Conference after suffering a 3-2 home loss against rivals New York City FC II. After falling behind by three goals, halftime substitute midfielders Christian Gallagher and Paul Sokoloff were able to cut the deficit to one. Ultimately, their comeback efforts just fell short.
Connecticut is in 14th place in the Eastern Conference and have lost their last two matches away from home. They were last in action on May 16 against Toronto FC II where the home team suffered a 2-0 defeat.
This will be the first ever matchup between the two sides.
