New York is fifth in the Eastern Conference after suffering a 4-2 defeat against New York City FC II at Icahn Stadium on Tuesday, September 8. In the loss, winger Benny Rodriguez added his fifth goal of the season while substitute fullback Aimar Modelo scored his first career MLS NEXT Pro goal.
Cincinnati is in 15th place in the Eastern Conference and have only won one match away from home this season. They were last in action on September 4, where they suffered a 2-1 defeat at Toronto FC II.
This will be the third meeting between the two clubs this season. The Red Bulls have gone unbeaten against the Ohio side in the campaign, including a 3-1 home victory on April 19. Captain Nate Worth leads the active roster with three goal contributions against Cincinnati.
