MATCH PREVIEW: Red Bull New York II to Host NYCFC II at MSU Soccer Park on Sunday, May 17

New York are first in the Eastern Conference and are one of two teams in MLS NEXT Pro to remain unbeaten through the first nine matches of the season. Red Bulls II is coming off a 2-1 victory against Toronto FC II on May 8 at York Lions Stadium. After a scoreless first half, captain Nate Worth and midfielder Andy Rojas found the back of the net to help the visitors secure the three points.

New York City sit in 13th in the Eastern Conference and have lost their last three matches away from home. They were last in action on May 10 at New England Revolution II where the visitors suffered a 3-2 defeat. 

The two sides faced off against each other on March 15 at Belson Stadium. After conceding five minutes into the match, the Red Bulls equalized in the 21st minute courtesy of a goal from forward Rafael Mosquera. Ultimately, New York City FC II picked up the two points with a 5-4 penalty shootout win. 

Through seven all time matches, the Red Bulls have posted a 3-2-2 all time regular season record against New York City FC II. The two sides have split the last four meetings.
