HARRSION, N.J. (March 21, 2026) – Red Bull New York II (2-0-1, 7 pts) to host Philadelphia Union II (2-1-0, 6 pts) for a 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs Eastern Conference Final rematch at MSU Soccer Park on Sunday, March 22. Dominik Wohlert and New York are off to a strong start to their 2026 MLS NEXT Pro campaign going unbeaten in their first three matches. Wohlert is the first Head Coach in club history to go unbeaten in his first three matches.
The side is coming off a 1-1 draw against NYCFC II at Belson Stadium on March 14. NYCFC II opened the scoring early with a fifth minute goal off a counterattack from forward Seymour Reid. However Red Bulls II responded in the 21st minute when midfielder Rafael Mosquera smashed a left footed shot from the top of the box into the top left corner of the net. The match would stay level at one after 90 minutes and New York went on to fall 4-5 in the penalty kick shootout.
Philadelphia have yet to be held scoreless through their first three matches of the season however they are coming off a 1-2 loss to new MLS NEXT Pro expansion side CT United on March 15 at Subaru Park. Union II took the lead in the 42nd minute when forward Malik Jakupovic faked a shot and then laced an attempt into the bottom right corner of the net. Connecticut equalized in the 57th minute, and Philadelphia midfielder Oscar Benitez Cobo was given a red card in the 61st minute. The visitors scored the match winner in the 86th minute to hand Union II a 1-2 loss.
Through eight all time MLS NEXT Pro matchups, Philadelphia hold the advantage with a 4-2-2 mark. However, New York are unbeaten in their last four matches across all competitions against the side.
The two clubs last met in the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Playoffs Eastern Conference Final at Sports Illustrated Stadium on November 1, 2025. Union II took the early advantage in the 38th minute when Edward Davis played a ball across the six-yard box to forward Sta Korzeniowski who placed a one-time shot into the top left corner of the net. New York responded in the 71st minute when defender Matthew Dos Santos crossed the ball into the box to forward Roald Mitchell who brought the ball down and struck a shot into the back of the net. Red Bulls II found the matchwinner in the 83rd minute when midfielder Adri Mehmeti played an over the top through ball to Mitchell who laced a right footed shot into the top right corner of the net to secure a 2-1 victory.
New York forward Mijahir Jimenez leads the active roster in goals scored against Philadelphia in MLS NEXT Pro play with two. He scored both goals in a 2-0 victory against Union II on August 12 at MSU Soccer Park and was named MLS NEXT Pro Player of Matchweek 22.
