New York is sixth in the Eastern Conference after securing a 2-1 victory against Atlanta United 2 at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground on Friday, August 14. Forwards Christian Gallagher and Andy Rojas scored in the latter stages of the first half to help the visitors get the necessary three points.
Toronto is in 13th place in the Eastern Conference and have won only one of their last five matches away from home. They were last in action on August 14, where they earned two points via a 5-4 penalty shootout win against Chattanooga FC.
This will be the third meeting between the two sides this season. The Red Bulls won the two previous matchups, including a 5-0 thrashing against the Canadian side at MSU Soccer Park on June 21.
